It costs less to prevent problems than to repair them. If you've ever walked out of your home and been drenched at the door, you've thought about gutters. With proper care and maintenance your system will maintain its beauty and performance for many years. Premature failure of gutter systems is most often caused by the accumulation of debris in the gutter trough. Many leaves and particles accumulate, causing poor or no water flow to the downspouts. Hence, the weight of the debris and water leads to failure, sag, and overflow of the system. Many times tennis balls, cola cans, newspapers, or many other objects will block the downspout. If you have trees you may want to install gutter protection such as Gutter Helmet® and "Never Clean Your Gutters Again!"® This product works on existing gutter systems or on new gutter systems and is the #1 gutter protection product in the industry. Gutter Helmet® is available exclusively in Central & South Texas from Austin Gutterman.
Climatic conditions vary considerably from one locality to the next. In some locales, mildew and mold may be a problem. It appears as black spots or streaks occurring on the surface. For surface soil, stains, streaks, or striping resulting from air pollution, acid rain, industrial fallout, tree sap, insecticides, or chimney fumes -- the use of ordinary non-abrasive household detergent is recommended. The solution should be applied to the soiled surface by means of a soft rag, sponge, or soft bristle brush with a gentle rubbing action - do not rub vigorously so as to create glossy areas over the satin finish of your gutter or accessory products. Soft bristle brushes equipped with long extension handles may be used to reach some of the higher areas. It is important that immediately following all washing operations, the entire surface be thoroughly rinsed with fresh water from a garden hose.
"Never Repair Your Gutters Again" There are many reasons this occurs but usually because the rain control system was poorly designed; too small a system, improper bracketry, or inadequate supports. A lack of drip edge flashing at the roofs edge is also a culprit, allowing water to run behind the gutter and rotting the fascia wood. The old style spike and ferrule application has a tendency to withdraw as the expansion and contraction of the metal pulls on the "spikes". Newer, hidden hangers with proper screws are proving to be the best to stop this from happening. One of the other most important parts of a rain control system is the proper amount of downspouts. These are the parts of the system that move the water away from your foundation. The control of moisture around your house will save your foundation from damage.
Seamless gutter is machine roll-formed at your home or jobsite to make rain gutter in various forms and out of different metals. The gutter system is then all one piece…corner to corner with no seams or joints. The gutter then does not leak and become unsightly. It can be roll-formed from copper, many factory colors of aluminum and also from Galvalume. Galvalume is not to be confused with old galvanized, which is not seamless and paint will not adhere to. Probably on your grandfathers’ home. New installation systems such as “SNAPLOCK” come with a lifetime Warranty and you never need to service your gutter again. Having your system seamless makes a great base for “GUTTER HELMET” which prevents debris from getting in so….you “Never Clean Your Gutters Again”
That question is asked many times when customers call. It is impossible to give an accurate price for a gutter system without a professional assessment of the home or property. Every home or property is different, just like our personalities. If a price is quoted over the phone then an expectation is set for the cost of the project. When the proposal is actually made, the cost is never what is quoted over the phone so the customer is made to feel that the price is higher or lower than what was initially told. Professional proposals and designs on site are free and the correct system for the home or property is in writing, so then no one’s feelings are hurt and quotes are accurate right down to the penny.
There are hundreds of leaf prevention products for gutter in the marketplace today…most of which is not tried and true to work properly and perform to promises. At Austin Gutterman all of the products that we sell to customers are thoroughly tested to be sure that the product performs to expectations and the warranties that are given to the customer are true. The old saying “Pay a little now or a lot later” holds very true when untried products are purchased because of the “Good Deal” or the urge to save money at all costs, when the “Good Deal” caused more problems than you had before the purchase.
Sorry, we don't do vinyl. We replace vinyl! First and foremost, vinyl gutter systems leak because they are not "seamless" products. The installation of this product is not custom fit to your home since angles, such as around bay windows, are limited with a vinyl system. There are few color options with vinyl and they last far less time then any other material. Why? - Because UV rays deteriorate vinyl gutter causing chalking, cracking, extreme expansion & contraction, and system breakdown. They simply cannot handle the hot Texas sun!
